Halle Pino celebrates Pride!

IDT is proud to introduce our current board members as we celebrate Pride 2025:
Halle Pino (she/her) is an IDT Board Member at large.

What does Pride mean to you?

Pride is not just a parade or a party—it’s a proclamation. It’s me walking into every room fat, femme, old, Asian, queer, and unapologetic—and knowing I deserve to be there. It’s honoring the queens, trans elders, and queer ancestors who threw bricks, broke binaries, and built homes from rejection. Pride is my resistance. My resilience. My joy.

How does Indy Drag Theatre connect you to community?

Indy Drag Theater is more than just a stage—it’s a sanctuary. Being part of Indy Drag Theater lets me serve not just as a performer or board member, but as a bridge—linking art to advocacy, tradition to transformation, and drag to deep, lasting change.

What is an IDT moment that filled you with Pride?

As a performer, advocate, and lifelong believer in the transformative power of drag, being invited to serve as a board member is both humbling and electrifying. I am so proud to be connected with this collective of creatives.

What do you want everyone to keep in mind this Pride season?

As we hit the streets, stages, and dancefloors to celebrate who we are, let’s not forget:
- Wear your sunscreen (the only thing we want burning is the patriarchy)
- Hydrate with water (iced coffee and cocktails don’t count, sweetie)
- And most importantly—consent is sexy, sacred, and non-negotiable.

This is our time to turn up, turn out, and turn heads—but it’s also a time to protect each other, uplift our trans and BIPOC siblings, and keep the spirit of Pride rooted in love and resistance.

Celebrate your queerness LOUD. Celebrate your joy DEEP. And celebrate each other with care, intention, and glitter.
